Hong Kong Court Appoints Liquidator for IPI

Last week, Hong Kong’s High Court ordered Imperial Pacific International (IPI) to be wound up, with a liquidator appointed.

Hong Kong-listed IPI holds an exclusive gaming license in Saipan, the largest island in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Its Imperial Pacific Palace resort has been closed since March 2020, and the associated license has been suspended since 2021.

According to GGRAsia, Phyllis McKenna has been appointed as liquidator for IPI. Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) is currently considering the revocation of IPI’s gaming license—a decision that is due April 22.

According to a recent report in Asia Gaming Brief, the commission is “leaning towards a settlement rather than immediate license revocation.”
