Horseshoe Baltimore Announces Celebrity Chefs

Horseshoe Baltimore announced that celebrity chefs John Besh and Aaron Sanchez (l.) will be collaborating on a Mexican restaurant at the new casino.

Caesars Entertainment announced that two celebrity chefs, John Besh and Aaron Sanchez, will be collaborating to create a Mexican restaurant at the new Horseshoe Baltimore casino, slated to open this summer.

The restaurant, to be called Johnny Sanchez, will offer a menu including tacos, tostadas and substantial dinner plates. “We’re not going to make it elite,” Sanchez told the Baltimore Sun, “not so chef-y that people won’t be able to embrace it.”

It is the first collaboration between the New Orleans-based Besh and the Kansas City-based Sanchez. Besh is famous as a judge on the Food Network’s Chopped. He has hosted two national public television cooking shows, and has published award-winning cookbooks. He runs a steakhouse inside the Harrah’s New Orleans casino.

Sanchez is known for his flagship restaurant Mestizo. He also created the menu for Crossroads, the restaurant at House of Blues venues nationwide.
