Human Rights Campaign Calls MGM ‘Perfect’

MGM Resorts International for a fourth straight year earned perfect marks from the Human Rights Campaign for the company’s support of its gay, lesbian, bi, and transgendered workers. MGM in 2004 became the first company in the gaming and hospitality industry to offer same-sex health care benefits for its workers.

The Human Rights Campaign for a fourth straight year has given MGM Resorts International top marks for providing a quality workplace for gay, lesbian, bi, and transgendered workers.

MGM earned a perfect score from the Human Rights Campaign on its 2016 Corporate Equality Index, which ranks large companies based on their support of gay, lesbian, bi, and transgendered workers.

“This recognition further demonstrates our enduring commitment to our LGBT community,” MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO Jim Murren said in a statement. “We are honored to receive a perfect score yet again and commit ourselves to the continuous promotion of equality within our workforce and throughout our communities.”

MGM is among 400 businesses across the nation that earned top marks for providing opportunities, benefits, and support for gay, lesbian, bi, and transgendered employees.

MGM first offered same-sex health care benefits for its workers in 2004, making it the first to do so in the gaming and hospitality industry.
