Hyatt Regency to Open at Resorts World New York

Hyatt Hotels will develop a new hotel near JFK International Airport. The property will be part of the Resorts World Casino in the Jamaica section of the city. The hotel company will partner with Genting Americas, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-based Genting Group, which owns Resorts World.

Dubbed the Hyatt Regency JFK at Resorts World New York, the property expects to open early next year as a 400 room, eight story hotel with “residential-inspired” guestrooms and an “energizing design.” The Hyatt Regency JFK will include several restaurants, 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and gaming areas.

The $400 million hotel will be 15 minutes from JFK by car and 30 minutes away by a combination of the JFK AirTrain and hotel shuttle. Hyatt’s closest hotel to the airport at the moment is nine miles away, according to Frequent Business Traveler.
