Laura Stensgar has been named CEO of Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley, Idaho, following Francis SiJohn’s resignation last month. Most recently Stensgar served as acting director at the casino, where she has worked since its opening 25 years ago. Prior to that she held the position of director of public affairs and cultural tourism, as well as director of marketing.
Tribal Chief and Council Vice Chairman James Allan said, “The Tribal Council has a lot of confidence in Laura’s abilities. We have no doubt she will continue to run our resort at the top level we know she is capable of and that our guests have come to expect of us.”
Stensgar added, “Visionary leadership is a great tradition with the Coeur d’Alene Tribe. I’ve learned from it and hope to add to it, to continue to be a good neighbor and a contributor of goodwill to the region.”
Stensgar earned a master’s degree in business from the University of Idaho.
Coeur d’Alene Casino features a renovated gaming floor with more than 1,400 gambling machines, a 300-room hotel, six restaurants, spa, event center, gas station and the Circling Raven Golf Club. It employs more than 900 people.
