A travel plaza is set to break ground just south of Gardnerville, Nevada, on Washoe land. There are plans for an $8 million gaming expansion on the property eventually, which will be operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians of Alabama.

A new .78 million gaming facility south of Gardnerville, Nevada has begun, named the Washoe Travel Plaza, operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians from Alabama. The plaza will eventually include a casino as well, but plans have not been finalized. A memo mentioned it could include 300 machines.

The gaming portion is expected to cost an additional $8 million. The travel plaza will be 6,000 square-feet, and include a convenience store and gas station, expected to open next year. The plaza could produce 100 new jobs, and is projected to bring in $1.8 million annually in net income.
