Leading slot manufacturer International Game Technology announced a partnership with Tokyo-based Matsui Gaming Machine Ltd., under which Matsui will be the manufacturer’s exclusive distributor in the South Korean gaming market.

Matsui has long been a successful supplier in several Asian markets. “We are focused on long-term growth in Asia, and the partnership with Matsui is an incredible opportunity for us to grow our brand and show our strength in this emerging marketplace,” said Sabby Gill, IGT IGT’s senior vice president of international sales. “Matsui demands the best-in-class games for its loyal customer base, and we are honored that they recognized the value of IGT to meet the needs of players in Korea.”

“We are delighted to be the exclusive distributor for IGT games in Korea,” said Takashi Matsui, chairman and CEO of Matsui Gaming Machine. “We look forward to the opportunity of bringing the latest games and systems to the Korean casino market.”

The Korean market consists of a total of 2,000 machines at present, with most casinos open only to foreigners. The largest casino in Korea is Kangwon Land Casino with 960 slots. Kangwon is the only casino to allow locals to enter.
