IGT Signs New System Contracts with Massachusetts Lottery, Palms Casino

The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission has tapped IGT to provide a new central gaming system, terminal software applications and an integrated website for lottery information, and Palms Casino will employ the IGT Advantage casino management system.

International Game Technology Plc. announced that its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation, has signed a new contract with the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission to provide a new central gaming system, terminal software applications, and an integrated website to display general lottery information, as well as for marketing and player convenience purposes, following a competitive procurement.

IGT provided the lottery’s existing central gaming system and lottery terminals in 1996. Over the years, IGT has installed self-service vending machines and currently prints a portion of the lottery’s instant tickets.

“We look forward to continuing to support one of the world’s most successful lotteries as it modernizes and positions itself for future growth in an ever-evolving environment,” said Jay Gendron, IGT senior vice president, WLA North America lottery. “With this latest technology, we hope to assist the lottery in achieving even greater efficiency and success in the years ahead.”

Under the terms of the product sale with the Massachusetts Lottery, IGT will provide project management and system integration responsibilities for all aspects of the lottery’ gaming system conversion. The supplier will convert the lottery’s existing central gaming and back-office systems to IGT’s latest systems solutions, including a comprehensive business intelligence and analytics tool that provides insights across all sales channels.

IGT also will provide technology transfer services to enable lottery personnel to maintain and support the provided software. In addition, IGT will work with the Massachusetts Lottery to improve its presence on the internet and enhance its customer relationship management.

In a separate release, IGT announced an agreement with Station Casinos LLC to provide the Palms Resort Casino in Las Vegas with its IGT Advantage casino management system, including the IGT Universal Game Adaptor and Service Window solutions.

By installing the IGT casino management system, Palms will be able to offer premium guest experiences through customized promotions and incentives through Service Window marketing, bonusing and guest communications solutions and applications across the property’s slot floor.

“Earlier this year, we reached an agreement with IGT to enhance our Advantage casino management system with UGA and Service Window across 19,000 machines and 19 Station Casinos properties,” said Marc J. Falcone, Station executive vice president and chief financial officer. “When we completed our acquisition of the Palms Resort Casino, we extended our investment in our guests by replacing the existing systems with IGT solutions that provide customized bonusing capabilities and incentives that enhance our newly expanded loyalty program.”

“This agreement represents the value that IGT systems bring to the gaming industry’s most innovative operators,” said Nick Khin, IGT’s senior vice president of sales for North America gaming and interactive. “Within just one month of acquiring Palms Resort Casino, Station Casinos elected to replace the property’s existing casino management system with IGT Advantage. We are thrilled to extend our strong relationship with Station Casinos by extending IGT systems capabilities to help provide an outstanding player experience at Palms Resort Casino.”

In other IGT news, the company announced that it has captured more than 40 percent of gaming machine floor share at the recently opened Black Spade Casino at Aloft Hotel Panamá. The installation is comprised of 148 IGT slot machines, including 30 premium titles, the largest single-site installation of the company’s premium games in Central America.

“When developing Black Spade Casino, we knew that we needed to fill our casino with IGT games to create the most exciting gaming destination in Panama,” said Mario Palafox, Black Spade Casino general manager. “By offering players new-to-the-region premium games such as Wheel of Fortune Wild Wedges, Dragon’s Temple and Gong Xi Fa Cai, along with other IGT content and cabinets, we are confidently delivering engaging casino experiences that appeal to a broad demographic of players.”

“Black Spade Casino is introducing players in the region to some of IGT’s most internationally celebrated games and cabinets,” said Brigitte Campbell, IGT sales manager for Central America. “We look forward to a continued partnership with Black Spade Casino as it leverages IGT’s best-in-class gaming solutions to drive player excitement and loyalty while differentiating its casino floor.”
