The head of the Illinois Gaming Board has resigned after serving four years in the post.
Attorney and business owner Dan Tracy announced his decision to step down at a pivotal moment in the history of gaming in the state, with Governor J.B. Pritzker expected soon to sign a bill into law that dramatically expands the Illinois market across all sectors and includes authorization for a casino in Chicago and for several new land-based casinos elsewhere.
Tracy, who was appointed in 2015 by Governor Bruce Rauner, gave no reason for his decision to leave the board.
A spokesman for Pritzker said his replacement would be named soon.
