Imperial Pacific Plans Temp Casino on Saipan

Hong Kong-listed Imperial Pacific International Holdings Ltd. plans to open a temporary casino on the island of Saipan sometime this year. The company previously announced plans to develop a US$7.1 billion resort on the Pacific Island.

Imperial Pacific International Holdings Ltd. has announced its intention “to launch a temporary casino in 2015” in Garapan, Saipan, with the first phase set to open by 2016.

The firm, an investor in Macau junket firm Hengsheng Group, had previously said it would invest US$7.1 billion in the development of a casino resort on the Pacific island.

The company has signed a license agreement with the commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
