The operator of the Beijing Imperial Palace Hotel (l.) in Macau has transferred the title of the property to Victory Success Holdings Ltd. The transaction was made in lieu of debt payments.

Ex claims ownership of Taipa hotel

The Empresa Hoteleira de Macau Lda, operator of the Beijing Imperial Palace Hotel, has transferred ownership of the hotel to a company named Victory Success Holdings Ltd., reports the Macau Business Daily. The ownership transfer, which was made to settle a bad debt, took place last October with the publication of a notice in Chinese language newspaper the Macao Daily.

Empresa Hoteleira is owned by businessman Ng Man Sun, also known as Ng Wai or Kai See Wai, who also founded of Greek Mythology Casino inside the hotel. The casino, which operated under the SJM gaming license, closed in January for “renovation reasons,” the Daily reported. SJM CEO Ambrose So Shu Fai said the closure was temporary.

Ownership of the property has been in dispute in recent years. In 2012, Ng and former girlfriend Chen Mei Huan started battling about the legal ownership of the hotel and casino. Chen claimed to own 80 percent of the property. Ng responded he had made a “temporary” transfer of shares to Chen in 2011. Ng was later attacked by a group of six men inside the Taipa property—an assault that required him to be hospitalized.

Right now, Ng’s Hong Kong-listed company Amax International Holdings owns a 24.8 percent stake in Greek Mythology Entertainment, the operator of Greek Mythology Casino.

No further information was available about the new owner, Victory Success Holdings Ltd.
