In Australia, SkyCity Repairs Under Way

Starting this week, SkyCity New Zealand is expected to undertake the multimillion-dollar repair of its unfinished International Convention Centre, damaged by a rooftop fire last October.

The blaze caused extensive damage to the NZ$700 million (US$460 million) development, but SkyCity insists the Auckland convention center will open as scheduled on January 1, 2023.

According to most news reports, the fire was linked to a teenage apprentice who left a blowtorch untended.
