India’s largest casino company, Delta Corp., is asking the government of Goa to reduce or eliminate its licensing fees for the period when it had to close during Covid. The last quarter, it lost $3 million.

Delta Corp, the largest gaming company in India, has asked the government of Goa, to waive or reduce its casino licensing fees for the times when it was forced to close its casinos due to the pandemic.

October 11 the company announced a $3 million loss for the quarter that ended September 30, slightly less than the previous quarter. Earlier this year it was forced to shut its doors in March, only to reopen with restrictions.

The company issued this statement: “Due to the pandemic situation, the stress on the operations and the representations made, the management is hopeful that the government of Goa may consider its request favorably.”
