Under the agreement, Intralot will provide a real-time monitoring and reporting system for cash devices across the state.
The deal will run for five years and includes an option to renew the agreement for four additional two-year periods, potentially extending the collaboration to a total of 13 years. The contract was awarded following a competitive process.
Real-time management
Intralot will deliver its iGEM central monitoring and reporting system, which is designed to offer real-time management, auditing, and reporting of cash device activities in competitive gaming environments.
Specifically, Intralot will implement site controllers, communication networks, central system infrastructure, reporting modules, training for distributors and operators, and advisory services for division personnel.
‘Important step’
Intralot stated that the deal “marks an important step in enhancing the oversight and operational efficiency of cash device regulation in Nebraska” and added that the partnership would improve security, compliance and operational transparency in the state.
Nebraska is home to at least 5,000 such devices at more than 1,600 locations.
The state’s voters approved casino gaming at licensed racetracks within the state in late 2020. Two years later, sports wagering rules were approved, and betting officially launched in June 2023 at Warhorse Casino Lincoln.
The Nebraska Racing & Gaming Commission is responsible for the oversight of gaming within the state.
US leader
In December, Intralot announced the appointment of Richard Bateson as the new CEO of its US business and a member of its board of directors.
Bateson had served as chief commercial officer of Intralot Inc since joining the business in April 2023.
