Iowa Casino Begins 60,000-Square-Foot Expansion

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska broke ground on a 60,000-square-foot expansion at its Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake, Iowa. The larger facility will feature 600 gaming positions, sportsbook, dining and retail, and create 200 jobs.

Iowa Casino Begins 60,000-Square-Foot Expansion

On the 4-year anniversary of the Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake, Iowa, the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska recently held a groundbreaking for a 60,000-square-foot expansion at the casino.

The project is expected to be completed in summer 2024 and create 200 new permanent jobs. Casino officials said the expansion will include more than 600 gaming positions, sportsbook with gastro pub, dining options, center bar and retail space.

Ponca Tribe Interim Chairwoman Rebecca “Becci” Sullivan said, “The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska’s investment in the Prairie Flower Casino has allowed our tribe to increase critical services like healthcare, job training and cultural preservation for our members, while providing high quality entertainment in Carter Lake.”

Officials said the casino will be open during construction.
