PlayCentral terminals have recently been upgraded with the SCiQ retail ecosystem. As such, Scientific Games said the Iowa Lottery will now benefit from streamlined instant game inventory management and sales reports, as well as real-time data analytics.
With these capabilities, Scientific Games said the Lottery can use the data to refine game portfolio management, develop targeted promotions and improve retail strategies for its scratch games.
The project forms part of a wider effort by the Iowa Lottery to improve its retail service to customers. Scientific Games added that the new-look terminals will “modernize” the retail experience for players.
More Retail Opportunities for Scientific Games
More than 14,000 PlayCentral terminals are currently deployed in 13 jurisdictions across North America. Of those, over 8,000 machines feature the upgraded SCiQ technology.
Further rollouts of the technology are planned both in the US and worldwide in 2025.
Commenting on the roll-out, Mike Cardell, senior vice president of Americas Systems for Scientific Games, said the new technology offers a “win-win” for the entire retail ecosystem.
“SCiQ is revolutionizing how lottery products are managed at retail by delivering both tactical and strategic analytics,” Cardell said. “We’ve incorporated all of SCiQ’s benefits within our industry-leading PlayCentral self-service machines.
“It’s not only a win-win for the entire retail ecosystem, but for the player experience as well. And we commend the Iowa Lottery for its innovative approach to continually modernize with new technology.”
