Ireland Strikes at Money Laundering

Ireland has adopted new regulations designed to fight money laundering. The new rules are part of the just amended Criminal Justice Act of 2018.

The Republic of Ireland has adopted new regulations aimed at fighting money laundering, and which will apply to bookmakers and casinos.

It will require them to report large financial transactions similar to regulations that apply to banks and other financial institutions. They will be held responsible for reporting transaction of more than €2,000.

The new rules are part of the recently amended Criminal Justice Act of 2018 and were signed into law recently by Minister of Justice Charles Flanagan.
