Isaacs Leaving Scientific Games

Gavin Isaacs has resigned his position as vice chairman of gaming supplier Scientific Games Corporation. He will remain as a consultant until the end of the month, when he will leave the company.

Scientific Games announced the departure in a one-sentence filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Isaacs was CEO of SHFL entertainment when that company was acquired by the former Bally Technologies in 2013. When lottery giant Scientific Games acquired Bally in 2014, Isaacs became the consolidated supplier’s chief executive officer. He resigned the CEO position and became vice chairman of the board when Kevin Sheehan took over as CEO in 2016. (Sheehan was replaced by Barry Cottle last year.)

In comments last week to CDC Gaming Reports, Isaacs indicated his departure does not mean he is done with the gaming industry. “I love Vegas,” he said. “I love gaming, and I’ll be back.”

Isaacs was awarded the Jens Halle Memorial Award Honoring Excellence in Commercial Gaming Professionalism by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers at the recent Global Gaming Expo.

“Few people in our industry’s history have traveled the world more than Gavin has, shaking hands, meeting customers, and sharing his unique personality, during a distinguished career that has also taken him to the top leadership position at multiple respected companies,” AGEM President Tom Nieman said in a statement.
