Island Breeze Casino Gaming Ship In Full Sail

South Florida gains a second casino gaming ship offering a full range of table games and slots as the Island Breeze—formerly the Black Diamond—set sail from Palm Beach.

A revived casino gaming boat out of Palm Beach’s port in Florida will feature poker events with World Series Poker Champion Jamie Gold. Gold, who won his bracelet in 2006, will play poker with passengers. Formerly the Black Diamond from its single-day casino cruise days, Island Breeze is a million improvement project with Bradley Prader serving at the helm. The ship held a soft opening March 15.

Prader said the group didn’t cut any corners in the year-long process. Brighter lights, extravagant décor, new poker and party rooms and enclosing the ship’s third floor were planned by a team of casino gaming professionals. Island Breeze offers blackjack tables, roulette, live craps, sports betting and free drinks. The ship sails in international waters, which allows for games Florida’s casinos can’t. It hosts up to 550 people.

Island Breeze is one of two active gaming ships in South Florida. The other is Genting’s Bimini SuperFast, which opened last year. A full-fledged gaming ship, the SuperFast takes trips to and from Bimini, where Genting operates a casino.
