Iverson Granted Patent for ‘VirtualATM’

Iverson Gaming Systems has been granted a U.S. patent on the technology behind its VirtualATM product, which would allow customers to use smartphones to download funds for gaming.

Pennsylvania-based Iverson Gaming Systems, in a statement released by founder and CEO Joanne Iverson, announced that the company has been granted a U.S. patent on the technology behind its “VirtualATM” product, a mobile application developed to enhance player convenience by allowing smartphones to function as an ATM for gaming funds.

“The new application is an add-on to existing systems that allows casinos to provide their slot players with a VirtualATM function right from the player’s smartphone,” said company President Millard Reeves.

VirtualATM connects to either an existing casino e-wallet, or to the player’s banking institution for debit transactions. The connection enables players to add funds to a specific slot machine without having to leave the machine to find an ATM.

The app also enables players to access their player’s club account, as well as many of the casino’s non-gaming services such as scheduling and paying for a spa appointment, making a purchase at the gift shop, or paying for meals at one of the facility’s restaurants.

In addition to the obvious benefits afforded casino guests, the mobile app also provides several distinct benefits to the casino, according to a company statement. “First and foremost, the enhanced functionality provided by the VirtualATM can be implemented without casinos having to invest in additional infrastructure,” said the statement. “The app was designed for seamless integration into casino management and player tracking systems currently utilized by most casinos.
