James Named Top Executive At Navajo Gaming

Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprises named 20-year industry veteran John James chief executive officer to oversee its New Mexico and Arizona properties. Previously James held the same position at venues in California, Washington and Arizona.

James Named Top Executive At Navajo Gaming

John James, a 20-year veteran of the gaming and hospitality industries, recently was named chief executive officer of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise.

James will oversee and manage Navajo Gaming properties in New Mexico and Arizona, including Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort, Fire Rock Navajo Casino, Northern Edge Navajo Casino, Flowing Water Navajo Casino and the Navajo Blue Travel Plaza.

Previously James served as chief executive officer at River Rock Authority and Soboba Casino Resort in California, Muckleshoot Casino Resort in Washington and Gila River Gaming Enterprises in Arizona. He also was chief operations officer at Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in California and held various leadership positions at Seminole Gaming, Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California and Station Casino properties.

Quincy Natay, chairman of the Navajo Gaming board of directors, said, “Navajo Gaming has grown to a multimillion-dollar enterprise over the past 15 years. John James brings extensive gaming and management experience and leadership qualities to lead Navajo Gaming. James said his three main objectives are to strengthen Navajo Gaming and the hospitality economy, return revenue to the Navajo Nation and provide additional jobs to Navajo Nation members.
