Hartford, Connecticut-based JCJ Architecture announced that the firm is one of three firms selected to work with design/build company Tutor Perini Building Company to develop an expansion to the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma.
In addition to Tutor Perini, JCJ, which launched a Las Vegas office last month, is working with design partner Friedmutter Group and developer TynanGroup LLC on the expansion.
Design work has already begun, and a groundbreaking will be held in late spring of 2019. The expansion will be completed within two years, JCJ officials said.
Under the expansion, the casino will add a new 1,000-room hotel, parking garage, retail, conference center, restaurants, resort-style pools and other entertainment venues. The casino’s gaming capacity will also be expanded.
The Oklahoma casino is owned and operated by the Choctaw Nation, which has worked with JCJ for more than a decade.
