Set to open in August, the million Wild Rose Jefferson casino and resort in Greene County, Iowa recently held a job fair. Spokesman Jamie Buelt said, “We are just trying to get applications and get people to have brief one on one interviews. Right now, if we can get 250 hired before August, that would be great.” Jobs need to be filled in every category, including casino services, food and beverage, human resources, security, marketing and valet. “That’s everything from accounts and servers to slot techs and IT professionals,” said Buelt. The casino will be one of the largest employers in the area, he noted.

General Manager Mike Couch said, “There’s a lot of details, especially when you are opening, that you kind of forget about when you are doing day to day operations, but we’re going to pull it all together and get it pulled off.” He said construction is proceeding as scheduled. “It’s coming along really quickly, the walls are coming up, the whole glass front for the promenade is in place, the studs are going up, the drywall is going up,” he said.

“This is not just a local project with local support, it’s a regional project with regional support,” said Buelt.
