Jefferson Starship Opens Stage 954 at Miami Casino

Rockers Jefferson Starship opened the new Stage 954 music venue at the Casino at Dania Beach in Miami, part of a $60 million renovation at the recently reopened property. Chief Executive Officer Scott Savin said the goal is to offer continuous entertainment, so players can enjoy a concert, watch jai alai and play the slots.

Part of a recently completed million renovation, the new Stage 954 music venue debut at the new Casino at Dania Beach, which opened last month in Miami. The first act, Jefferson Starship, will be followed by Air Supply and Foreigner later this spring.

Partial owners, the Havenick family, created Stage 954 to resemble Stage 305 at the Magic City Casino, with a lineup of classic rock, comedy and other acts. Chief Executive Officer Scott Savin said the goal is to offer non-stop entertainment, so players can enjoy a concert, watch jai alai and play the slots.

Savin added free shows also will be scheduled, featuring local bands on Friday and Saturdays on a smaller stage near the slots area. The rock group Smash Mouth will offer a free concert on the main stage on March 5.

Previously known as Dania Jai-Alai, jai alai matches were offered in the auditorium seating with poker games on the second floor, now home to Stage 954.
