Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan (l.) is one of the lead investors in a group making a $26 million investment in an esports startup called aXiomatic Gaming. AXiomatic Gaming owns Team Liquid, which is regarded as one of the top pro gaming organizations in the world.

Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan is one of the lead investors in a group making a $26 million investment in an eSports startup called aXiomatic Gaming, according to Bloomberg News.

 

AXiomatic Gaming owns Team Liquid, which is regarded as one of the top pro gaming organizations in the world. It is considered the third-most valuable eSports team in the world at $200 million.

AXiomatic is headed by several prominent figures in the sports world including Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, Los Angeles Dodgers and Golden State Warriors part-owner Peter Guber, Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Warriors minority owner Bruce Karsh are all co-chairs for the company.

Jordan is also the owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets.
