Joseph Eve CPAs announced that it will host Nevada Gaming Commission staff, inspectors, finance officers and others for its next “Internal Audit Boot Camp.” The series on how to protect casino operations, now in its 17th year, will take place December 7-9 at Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in Las Vegas.
Instructing at the boot camp are three of the gaming industry’s leading audit experts: Grant Eve, partner at Joseph Eve CPAs; Glen Galt, manager of Joseph Eve; and Billy David, owner/consultant at Bo-Co-Pa & Associates.
“Proper internal auditing is a mission-critical function for a casino,” said Eve. “It is an essential piece of compliance, and in protecting the operation from internal and external threats that could compromise profitability. Come to the seminar so we can discuss how the internal audit department can bring value to the seminar.”
Over the course of the seminar’s three days, attendees will learn about the following:
• Audit Requirements
• Class II 543 Internal Audit Responsibilities
• Communication within the Commission
• Gaming Ordinances
• Internal Audit Charters
• Internal Audit Workpapers and Documentation
• Recent and Possible Regulatory Changes
• Role of Internal Audit and the Gaming Commission
• Testing in Mixed Class II and III Facilities
• Title 31 – Source of Funds and Due Diligence
All attendees will also be entered into a raffle for four tickets to an evening event at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, which will be taking place in Las Vegas the same days as the boot camp.
Registration is available at the events page of www.josepheve.com. At press time, only 10 slots were still available.
