Jupiters Is Now Star Gold Coast

Jupiters Hotel and Casino (l.), operated by the Star Entertainment Group of Australia, has officially been renamed the Star Gold Coast. The luxury resort, now being renovated, will add a hotel before it reopens in 2018.

Targeted at leisure, business groups

Star Entertainment Group’s Jupiter Hotel and Casino on Broadbeach in Queensland, Australia, has been renamed the Star Gold Coast, reports the Asia Gaming Brief.

The facility, now under renovation, will add a new six-star luxury hotel before it reopens, possibly in time for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

“The refurbishment of our existing facilities has served as a catalyst in providing the standards of product excellence, and guest services, that the Star brand represents,” Star’s Managing Director of Queensland Geoff Hogg told the Hotel News. “The Gold Coast’s reputation as a must-visit destination continues to strengthen with both leisure and business travelers, so we are working to create a broad offering that will help to support this well into the future.”

Hogg added that the resort is “a distinctive premium product that will become a major driver in attracting vital economic benefits for the Gold Coast and Queensland tourism more generally.”
