Kaku Named Executive Chef of Sahara Las Vegas

On April 14, the Sahara Las Vegas announced the promotion of Lyle Kaku to executive chef.

Kaku has served as executive sous chef for Sahara since 2018, managing multiple restaurant openings and leading the development and implementation of new menus for the resort’s restaurants, in-room dining and banquets departments.

Kaku will oversee all culinary operations for the resort and play a key role in the development and opening of new restaurants coming to the property this year, including Chickie’s & Pete’s, Noodle Den and the recently announced Ballo.

“We are delighted to promote Chef Lyle to executive chef of SAHARA Las Vegas,” said Anthony Olheiser, vice president of food and beverage for the resort. “He has been an integral member of our culinary team for the past three years and we’re thrilled to have him in this new role as we continue to expand and elevate our culinary portfolio.”

Kaku received his culinary arts training from the University of Hawaii. He has held prominent positions at award-winning restaurants and resorts across Las Vegas, Maui, New Orleans and San Francisco, including Spago Maui, Hyatt Regency New Orleans and Fairmont San Francisco.
