According to a news release, the Kalispel Tribe, will break ground in March 2021 on a new expansion project at Northern Quest Resort and Casino that will add almost 200 new hotel rooms and suites in 2023.
The project start was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
When complete, the hotel capacity will grow to more than 440 rooms. The new structure will feature five connected buildings inspired by the concept of a Native American fish weir. The new rooms will resemble the existing rooms, with a skywalk connecting the addition to the current hotel.
The Kalispel Tribe said in addition to temporary construction jobs in the Spokane area, the expansion project will bring approximately 150 permanent new jobs to the Airway Heights property, according to Fox 28.
The tribe’s master plan includes the potential addition of a 30,000 square foot conference center.
