Kansas Lottery Reports Record Highs

In the fiscal year just ended, the Kansas Lottery reported a record-breaking $155 million in lottery and casino revenues. Total revenues at the three state-owned casinos in Kansas City, Mulvane and Dodge City reached $365 million, and traditional lottery ticket sales increased 2.2 percent to $264 million.

The Kansas Lottery reported a record high 5 million in lottery and casino gambling revenues for the recently ended fiscal year. The state received million—about .3 million more than expected–from its 22 percent share of profits from the three state-owned casinos in Kansas City, Mulvane and Dodge City. Total revenues at the three casinos reached 5 million.

Lottery officials said sales of traditional lottery tickets increased 2.2 percent to $264 million during the fiscal year. The state general fund receives 29.5 percent of traditional lottery sales proceeds. A minimum of 45 percent of the proceeds must be paid out in prizes.
