Genting Singapore has announced the promotion of Nanami Kasasaki of Genting International Japan to the company’s chief corporate officer. Her appointment took effect May 31 and is seen by some as an indication of the firm’s focus on winning a Japanese integrated resort license.
AGPNippon.com reported that Kasasaki joined Genting in 2008 and has held several positions in corporate planning and finance. For more than 10 years she served as representative director for the Japan division.
In her new position, she is expected to “assist the president and chief operating officer in the formulation of strategic development for the group’s investment projects, mergers and acquisitions, and new business opportunities; as well as oversee the group’s corporate functions,” the company stated.
In April, Genting Singapore Chairman Lim Kok Thay disclosed to shareholders that the company will make multiple IR bids in Japan, both in metropolitan and regional markets.
