Philadelphia-based gaming equipment supplier KGM Gaming won the 2014 Excellence in Innovation Award for its pioneering work in commercial seating, at the inaugural Supplier Excellence Awards hosted by Las Vegas Sands Corporation.
Established in 2003, KGM is a developer of custom seating, slot bases, millwork and custom-designed casino signage, and a distributor of gaming machines. In 2007, KGM began manufacturing its own design of commercial seating at its 100,000-square-foot production facility.
The Supplier Excellence Award Program grew out of the Supplier Business Review Process, which is part of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation’s process for identifying best-in-class procurement processes. KGM Gaming was honored for its work with Sands Bethlehem Casino Resort in Pennsylvania. Representatives from Sands’ corporate quality management team toured KGM Gaming for the purpose of performing a quality audit prior to placing a substantial order for slot chairs.
“We were impressed with the layout of clean, lean and ergonomically facilitated production areas,” said Kevin Brady, vice president of operations for Sands Bethlehem. “KGM not only manufactured quality gaming products but provided exemplary service to Sands Bethlehem. This was demonstrated by their willingness to deliver large quantities of seating to the property during third-shift operations, install the new, and remove the old with virtually no interruption in our guest experience. Most importantly, KGM took great pains to recycle the replaced seating’s steel and aluminum parts.”
KGM Gaming President Jason Peters commented, “We’re in a time of rapid innovation for the gaming industry. As KGM Gaming expands its role as a quality supplier and manufacturer, we are more committed than ever to improving the performance of our products and delivering timely, relevant services to our clients. We are honored to be recognized by the Sands Las Vegas Corporation for our manufacturing efforts.”
