Kim to Head Twin River Worldwide

John Taylor, Jr. (l.) has stepped down as chairman and executive chairman of Twin River Worldwide Holdings. He will be replaced by Soohyung Kim, a large shareholder in Twin River, as well as managing partner and chief investment officer.

Soohyung Kim has been appointed chairman of Twin River Worldwide Holdings, replacing John Taylor, Jr. who will also leave the board of directors after serving as chairman since 2010 and executive chairman since 2017.

Taylor led the company as it emergency from bankruptcy to becoming listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Kim is a large shareholder in Twin River, also its managing partner and chief investment officer. He has been an independent director of TRWH since 2016.

The Rhode Island-based Twin River operates Twin River Casino Hotel and Tiverton Casino Hotel in that state, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, the Arapahoe Park racetrack in Colorado and the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Delaware.

It is acquiring properties from Missouri and Mississippi from Eldorado Resorts for $230 million.

In his valedictory as chairman, Taylor said, “The company has become a major force in the gaming space and is on a powerful financial trajectory. He added, “I am proud of what we’ve accomplished and have nothing but good wishes for the company’s continued success in the future.”
