Konami Launches in Sweden

Konami Gaming has launched its first games in Sweden, through distributor International Casino Management, at the state-owned Casino Cosmopol.

Slot manufacturer Konami Gaming launched its first round of slot installations in Sweden through its distributor, International Casino Management (ICM), which recently signed an agreement with the nation’s state-owned gaming entity Casino Cosmopol. Casino Cosmopol operates four casino properties in Sweden, and its Sundsvall and Malmö locations recently installed leading products from Konami’s video slot library, most notably the popular SeleXion multi-game cabinet.

ICM is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and is part of Konami’s exclusive network of distributors, partnering to address the needs of specific European markets and ensure strong, local customer support.

“We are currently moving into a new phase at Casino Cosmopol Sundsvall where we want to provide an improved gambling and entertainment experience for our guests, and we are confident that the SeleXion machines are contributing to that experience,” said Inger Nordqvist, casino manager at Casino Cosmopol.

“We are very excited with the start that our SeleXion machines have had and they seem to be popular,” said Casino Cosmopol gaming manager Henrik Lindgren. “In addition, our slot technicians and attendants think the machines from Konami are easy to maintain, well thought-out and reliable.

“ICM has maintained successful business collaborations with Casino Cosmopol since 2005, and when we were named Konami’s exclusive distributor in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries last year, we immediately recognized how Konami’s product offering is a compelling fit for our customers,” ICM CEO Wolfram Dahlström said. “Now, we’ve placed the first-ever Konami machines in Sweden, and I’m particularly happy that the Casino Cosmopol’s Sundsvall and Malmö locations hosted this landmark premier.”
