Blockchain lottery operator Quanta has named former Intralot executive Konstantinos Farris as its chief technology officer, the Isle of Man-based firm announced.
The company said Konstantinos will provide technical leadership and ensure Quanta’s ethereum blockchain technologies are used appropriately and effectively. He will oversee IT project management, product testing and integration, and will work closely with Quanta’s technical development teams. In addition, Konstantinos will develop technical aspects of the firm’s IT strategy, the company said in a press release.
Konstantinos had a 20-year career with Greek lottery giant Intralot—working as Chief of Technology for the Intralot Group from 2007 to 2016. He also held the executive roles of General Technical Director then Group CTO, the release said.
“I am delighted to welcome Konstantinos to the team,” said Lee Hills, chief operating officer at Quanta. “He is a heavyweight when it comes to gambling and technology, and is a huge asset for us as we continue to leverage the power and capabilities of our blockchain platform. It is going to be an exciting era in the gambling industry from a business and technical perspective, and we look forward to the vision and input Konstantinos will bring to the future global development of our business and IT strategies.”
Quanta is the first fully compliant blockchain lottery in the world. Built on the Ethereum blockchain, Quanta utilizes smart contracts for tickets sales, the selection of winners and prize payouts, ensuring fully autonomous, transparent, manipulation-proof gaming, the release said.
