A foreigners-only casino run by Grand Korea Leisure Co. will move from the Millennium Hilton Seoul to Seoul Dragon City, just in time for New Year’s Eve.

Korean Casino to Relocate

One of two Seoul casinos operated by Grand Korea Leisure Co. (GKL) will relocate from the city’s Millennium Hilton to the Seoul Dragon City complex, the company reported in a filing to the Korea Stock Exchange.

Gaming at the Seven Luck-branded gaming hall will begin on December 31 at 6 a.m., with a grand opening set for mid-January.

According to GGRAsia, GKL first announced the move in December 2021, noting that its lease at the Millennium Hilton would expire at the end of this year.

A brief suspension of slot play will result in an estimated KRW400 million (US$309,000) drop in revenues.

GKL’s lease at Seoul Dragon City will run through August 15, 2032. The resort hosts four hotel brands: the Grand Mercure, ibis Styles, the Novotel and Novotel Suites, with 1,700 rooms in total.

GKL is a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, part of the country’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. GKL runs three foreigners-only casinos in South Korea under the Seven Luck name: two in the capital city of Seoul, and one in the southern port city of Busan.
