Joins K International and Dongnam Industry
Ramid Hotels & Resorts has been named as the third Korean company interested in developing an integrated resort in Russia’s Primorye special economic zone, where one casino is operational and several more are in the planning or development stages.
According to a news release from the Primorsky Krai Development Corp., the hotel company is considering building a casino resort with a golf course in the zone. The development would potentially be “at the level of recognized world entertainment centers Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Dubai,” reported Inside Asian Gaming.
Governor Oleg Kozhemyako said officials “are ready to provide land plots” including some near Vladivostok, a port city on the Black Sea. If the deal goes forward, Ramid would become the third South Korean company to develop tourism facilities in the region, with K International Inc. set to build a US$300 million IR and Dongnam Industry Co. Ltd. recently announcing development plans for a US$30 million golf resort.
“We have good relations with the Republic of Korea, many tourism projects are developing, including in the hotel business,” said Kozhemyako. “We are ready to go forward and offer favorable conditions for both the maritime business and the Korean side.”
Ramid Hotels & Resorts currently operates a number of hotels in Korea including the Ramada Seoul Hotel, Ramada Songdo Hotel and Miranda Hotel Incheon. The company specializes in golf courses, IAG reported.
