Ladbrokes Australia has moved its regulatory home to the Northern Territory, joining Betfair which made the move earlier last month.
The moves come after the Northern Territory Parliament amended legislation to allow for betting exchanges in April.
Ladbrokes Australia sent emails to its customers informing them that Ladbrokes.com.au would now operate under a license issued by the Northern Territory Racing Commission.
Ladbrokes had been operating under a license by the Norfolk Island Gaming Authority, which was stripped of its licensing powers in April. A source from Ladbrokes Australia reportedly told eGaming Review that the uncertainty of NIGA’s future played a major role in its decision.
