Ladbrokes Withdraws From More European Markets

UK bookmaker Ladbrokes Plc has pulled out of several more European markets including Russia, Finland, Portugal and Romania following a 2014 regulatory operational review of new European gaming laws.

UK Bookmaker Ladbrokes continues to adopt to new European and UK gambling regulations by pulling out of European markets.

The company announced it will no longer take bets from players in Russia, Finland, Portugal and Romania. The move comes due to changes in European and UK online gambling legislation. The company said it is attempting to comply with the new laws.

Ladbrokes corporate focus is now to concentrate its betting and gaming services within Europe’s regulated markets. The bookmaker has already withdrawn from a number of markets including Hungary, Norway and Switzerland.

Ladbrokes withdrew from the four new countries because they are each reviewing their online gambling regulations, the company said. The company did not say if they plan a return to those countries after those reviews are finished.
