Land-based Iowa Casino Hiring 300 Employees

Managers began interviewing candidates for about 300 positions that need to be filled at the new 0 million Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport, Iowa, schedule to open June 16. General Manager Mo Hyder said, “We’ve been very fortunate we have a tremendous amount of interest and some really great folks come through our doors.

More than 100 positions have been filled since the beginning of the year and more than 250 current Rhythm City employees also will transfer to the new facility.

Besides job creation, Hyder said the new casino will have a significant impact on the local economy. “It’s going to really position us in the manner that’s going to generate more revenue, not only for the city, but for the state,” Hyder said. He noted the casino’s license holder and nonprofit partner, the Riverfront Development Association, also “takes the money that we generate and gives it back to the community.”

Kacey Russell, manager at the casino’s Ruthie’s Steak & Seafood restaurant, said, “It’s very exciting to see the ball rolling and see everything come into play from the construction to all the new hires, to the energy of the overall staff, getting more and more excited as the time is winding down to opening day.”

Rhythm City, located at Interstates 80 and 74, will feature a 33,800 square foot gaming floor with 800 slot machines and 30 gaming tables, including designated smoking and non-smoking areas, plus a six-story, 106-room hotel, 1,500-seat event center, three restaurants, pool and spa.
