Las Vegas’s newest casino resort, the adults-only Circa Resort has reached out to San Diego, California for its first partnership, with the MLB’s Padres baseball club.
Under the deal, Circa will be the official sponsor of the ninth inning of Padres games for the upcoming season.
Circa CEO and owner Derek Stevens told the Las Vegas Review-Journal: “They had some unique advertising available… and what we ended up doing is being the ninth inning sponsor for the Padres.” He added, “Whether they’re winning the game and it’s only half of an inning or they’ve got to come back in the ninth, we got the deal where we have the signage behind home plate.” In a statement he said, “The Padres are one of the most exciting teams in baseball right now. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of their upcoming season and to bring a piece of the Vegas action to San Diego.”
The Circa Resort & Casino opened in Las Vegas last October.
Also included in the deal are TV and radio ad spots and a social media element.
Sergia Del Prado, Padres senior vice president, praised the deal: “We are excited to expand our brand to the Las Vegas market and work with such a cutting edge and innovative property.”
