Las Vegas’ Circa Sports to Expand to Northern Nevada

Circa Sports, operators of Las Vegas’ largest dedicated sportsbook, is expanding to the northern Nevada market by partnering with Olympia Gaming to build a sportsbook inside Olympia’s new Legends Bay Casino, which is currently under construction in Sparks.

The ongoing project plans to open this summer at The Outlets at Legends, a retail center near the Sparks Marina. It is the area’s first new-construction casino in nearly 30 years.

Circa CEO Derek Stevens told the Reno Gazette-Journal that the company was excited to introduce their brand to a new market, especially in Nevada where the industry is very competitive. Stevens said that their goal is to provide an “incredible sportsbook to the property.”

Since their launch just three years ago, Circa has had a meteoric rise of sorts– the Circa Resort & Casino opened in 2020 in Las Vegas, featuring a sportsbook which they claim to be the largest in the world. The Legends expansion is the first time the company has ventured outside of the Vegas market.

Conversely, the Legends Bay project has been an odyssey of sorts for Olympia Gaming, who started planning for the casino all the way back in 2007. The project has survived numerous postponements in the last 15 years, but finally appears to be on the home stretch.

DeCourcy Graham, chief operating officer of Olympia, was very appreciative of the parties involved now that the project nears completion, including Circa, construction firm RED Development and the City of Sparks. Graham called the casino “a great accomplishment for the entire team.”

The 80,000 square-foot hotel and casino will feature numerous dining options, bars and nightclubs. The nearby shopping center will also be within walking distance.

With regards to the sportsbook specifically, Circa has said that it will feature the same technology and offerings as their other locations. The company’s mobile betting app will also be accessible to bettors while on the property for added convenience.
