Is donating about 10,000 pieces of furniture to victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Nicole Liston-Tyson, event coordinator at New Hope Church in Las Vegas, said the company was remodeling some of its hotels and wanted to donate about 10,000 pieces of furniture. “Each hotel is 55 floors and we have 10 floors dedicated to us, so we have 550 rooms and we just signed on to have eight more floors from a different hotel,” Liston-Tyson said.

The Las Vegas company also donated the 18-wheelers that are delivering the furniture to various hurricane-damaged locations in Texas, including Missouri City. A charitable group located there, Sienna Shared Blessings, is organizing contributions of the furniture and more for 137 families.

Director Noreen Covey said, “We got hit with the tornadoes and the hurricane flooding.” She said she established Sienna Shared Blessings after becoming frustrated with the slow response of FEMA and the Red Cross after the hurricane. Covey said the group’s warehouse also has taken in donations from Ohio, Michigan and Louisiana.
