Hard Rock International, which bought the Mirage (l.) on the Las Vegas Strip from MGM Resorts International last year, has begun offering free parking, show and spa discounts and other perks to locals with a valid Nevada ID.

Las Vegas Mirage Offers Locals Perks

As part of an effort to attract more locals, the Mirage Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip began offering an array of perks on April 17. The new owners, Hard Rock International, which bought the landmark from MGM Resorts International for $1.1 billion last year, said the benefits will be available to locals with a valid Nevada ID who sign up for the Mirage-Hard Rock Hotel Unity Rewards Program.

The perks include free parking; 20 percent off tickets for shows including Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles LOVE and Shin Lim: Limitless; discounts on spa packages and restaurants; and happy hour specials.

Mirage President Joe Lupo said, “Locals are a huge part of what makes Las Vegas so special. The Mirage looks forward to attracting more locals to the property, celebrating them with local-only offerings to show our appreciation for their continued support.”

Hard Rock announced it will renovate the property, built in 1989, and build a new 600-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower. Lupo said, “The 3,044-room casino resort will continue to operate as the Mirage Hotel & Casino until the renovation and rebranding of the property to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is complete. The process is anticipated to take an extended period, but ultimately will dramatically reimagine every aspect of the resort.”

However, the new owners also plan to remove the famed Mirage Volcano and already have closed the Siegfried and Roy Secret Garden and Dolphin habitat.
