Las Vegas Sands Hires Lobbyist Blanche Lincoln

Sheldon Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands has hired the government consulting firm of former Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Arkansas) to lobby for the casino and for a bill outlawing online gambling in the U.S.

Sheldon Adelson has brought a Democrat on board to lobby against online gaming in the U.S.

The Lincoln Policy Group, has registered to lobby for Adelson’s Las Vegas Sands Corp. They will lobby on “legislation that would reinstate the policy banning internet gambling.”

Adelson is a noted supporter of Republican politicians and donated more than $100 million to various Republican committees in 2012 and 2013.

He is also personally leading a Coalition to adopt a federal ban on online gaming, claiming it will hurt children and problem gamblers as well as take business away from land-based casinos.

Bills to outlaw online gambling were introduced in Congress last week.
