The non-profit organization Global Gaming Women (GGW) has announced the appointment of Lauren Bates and Siobhan Lane as 1st and 2nd vice presidents of its board of directors, respectively.
Bates currently serves as vice president of sales, western region for Konami Gaming, where she oversees product sales, development and strategy for the market.
Lane currently serves as interim CEO of Light and Wonder’s gaming division, on top of her regular duties as gaming chief commercial officer. She leads the company’s analytics, marketing and product development for the North American region.
GGW President Cassie Statford said in a statement: “We are at an exciting time for our industry and GGW. Our founding board members created this organization to encourage and support the professional advancement of women in gaming. Because of them, GGW has the legitimacy and recognition we do today. As our industry expands, it is a privilege to be able to build upon that vision alongside inspiring leaders such as Lauren and Siobhan.”
Bates added, “GGW is actively delivering vital educational programs, networking events, and development opportunities to women at all stages in their careers daily, thanks to the support of volunteers, mentors, members, and sponsors across the industry. The work we do is ambitious, impactful, and altogether necessary to advance the future of gaming. I am excited to help drive GGW’s ongoing growth and development alongside the organization’s board of directors and planning committees.”
“As a woman in the industry—this role with GGW is deeply personal to me,” Lane said. “It is integral that we continue to create opportunities and spaces that uplift, celebrate and support the countless women in gaming who are inspiring and affecting change.”
