French Lick Resort Casino in Indiana named former WAVE3 anchor and meteorologist Lauren Jones to its marketing team, where she will emcee events at the West Baden Springs Hotel, French Lick Springs Hotel and French Lick Casino and be the “face of the resort on social media,” the company said in statement.
Jones commented, “After I had Covid-19, I knew I wanted to use my skills as a journalist to share hopeful news, instead of heartbreaking news. I want to be a part of someone’s happiest day instead of their saddest, and I feel very blessed with the opportunity to do that alongside the wonderful marketing team at French Lick Resort.”
Jones worked for the Louisville-area NBC affiliate for a decade. She was off the air for an extended time dealing with Covid-19. Then, she said, the station wasn’t renewing her contract. She said “the time just isn’t right” to accept another television job.
Jones, who is married to WDRB meteorologist Jude Redfield, previously worked for WLKY and stations in Indiana.
