Total of 46 tables
The Legend Palace Hotel on Macau’s Fisherman’s Wharf will open with 15 new-to-market mass gaming tables and 91 slot machines, says Macau Secretary for Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tac.
According to Macau Business, Leong said SJM Holdings Ltd., which holds the gaming license used by Macau Legend Development Ltd., will also shift 55 other mass and VIP gaming tables from other properties to the new hotel, which is set to open February 27. Leong said SJM has not requested new gaming tables for Jai Alai.
“As in the past, we are still strictly abiding to the rule of a maximum annual 3 percent growth for gaming tables for the span of 10 years,” Leong told GGRAsia. “You can also see that we have earmarked the newly-granted tables for mass play only. Mass play has an important role for our gaming revenues and it has also brought new client sources for our small and medium-sized enterprises so we will continue to stick by this principle.”
Leong said the 15 new tables were granted to Legend Palace Hotel to aid the city as it develops into “a world center of tourism and leisure.”
David Chow Kam Fai, co-chairman and CEO of Hong Kong-listed Macau Legend Development Ltd., told the World Casino Directory that the hotel will offer a total of 46 tables earmarked for mass-market play and they should “suffice” for the new development’s operations.
