Lipparelli Appointed to Nevada Senate

The Clark County Commission has voted unanimously to appoint former Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman Mark Lipparelli to a vacant state Senate seat in Las Vegas. Lipparelli will fill the seat once occupied by Mark Hutchison, newly elected lieutenant governor.

Former Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman Mark Lipparelli has been tapped to fill the Senate seat occupied by outgoing Senator Mark Hutchison.

Hutchison was elected in November to serve as lieutenant governor. By a unanimous vote, Clark County commissioners chose Lipparelli, also a Republican, to take his seat in Senate District 6 serving western Las Vegas, reported the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Lipparelli was appointed to the Gaming Control Board in 2009 and served as chairman from January 2011 to September 2012. He previously held several executive positions in the gaming industry, most recently at Bally Technologies.

Lipparelli will serve out the remainder of Hutchison’s term and will be eligible to run for the seat again in 2016.
