Lithuania, Ukraine to Share Information on Gaming

Lithuania and Ukraine’s gaming authorities have agreed to share information. Lithuanian Director of the Gaming Control Authority Virginijus Daukšys is pleased to be able to assist Ukraine with his country’s regulatory expertise.

Lithuania, Ukraine to Share Information on Gaming

The gaming authorities of Lithuania and Ukraine have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to share information and cooperate on gaming industry oversight.

The MOU was signed by the Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority and the Gambling and Lotteries Regulation Commission of Ukraine. They are committed to sharing information on business supervision, regulatory practice and legislative enforcement.

Lithuanian Director of the Gaming Control Authority Virginijus Daukšys, said in a statement, “We are ready to share with our Ukrainian colleagues our experience in areas where we already have a lot of expertise and practice.”

The cooperation will focus on prevention of problem gambling, fighting illegal offshore operators and technical issues. They will also exchange information on legal issues, market regulations and application of legislation to the industry.

Daukšys said the previous year-long cooperation between the two European countries had been affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
